Thanks for all of the replies.

It seems that the term PWM can mean different things depending on the context.

In the case of the Jaguar OUTPUT what matters is the duty-cycle, i.e. the percentage of time that the signal is on with respect to its period.

In the case of the Jaguar INPUT what matters is the length of time (i.e. in seconds) that the signal is on.
