Two Regionals?

Just cuious which teams are planning to go to two or more regionals and if so which ones? My team is trying to decide if we should go to 2 regionals, or just one and nationals.

We are definitely going to LA and definitely not to Nationals. How much does the registration for nationals cost anyway?

We might go to Phoenix if we can get the money, we'll just have to see how our fundraising attempts go. :sigh:

<note> If anyone wants to revive the fundraising forum go for it, please </note>

Your primary regional is $5000 though right to cover the kit of parts? It's good to hear that nats are so cheap, I thought they were more. Maybe 2004....

We are registered, for the 7th year, for the Mid Atlantic Regional. With our success from last year, we qualified for nationals, and will be registering.

We are also in hopes of getting a grant from NASA. That will allows us to compete in one more event. We chose the Chesapeake Regional because they hosted the MD/NASA event this fall, and I guess the adults enjoyed it.

Our team has been in existance for 5 years, and for the last 4 years of comp we have gone to two regionals, and nats. For the first two of those 4 years we attended Great lakes and Midwest. Ypsilanti and Chicago. But with the creation of the western Michigan regional 2 years ago we now go there because its closer. We have the distinct advantage of having the greatlakes regional on our backdoor, 5 minutes from the highschool, at eastern michigan university (where I go now). So we only have to really travel for west michigan and nats. While great lakes is a good regional i like Western michigan better, cuz its a little smaller. We are hopin to go there again if we can get a slot earlyenough of nov. 3. Besides we have to break our streak, we've taken away finalsit trophies 2 years in a row (both alliances were picked by us too).

More specifically, the extra $1000 for the first event is specifically to cover the cost of the control system.

Our team is hoping to go to 2 regionals and the nationals....if we can get enough funds for that second regional... both of our regionals will be in MI... but really, money is the concern. If not, we're just heading to 1 regional and Nationals.....need fundraising help...

We went to 2 regionals (NYC and Canada) last year along with Nationals. This year, we're registered for Canada and the second one, if we have funding (bah you rich college) we'll go to Maryland. And depending upon how good the robot is, we may also go to the nationals, which we didn't decide to do till 2 weeks before.

TechnoKats

The TechnoKats will be attending 2 regionals for sure with other possibilities in mind... If your one to keep a close eye on the regional list you'll see that our 1st choice regional is now St. Louis and we are planning on attending the Midwest Regional in Chicago for our 2nd.
