Autodesk Award questions
We had a team meeting today. An idea came up that we could draw up our robot in Solidworks then export in to .STP or .STEP. By doing this it would allow us to pull it up in inventor and then exprt as an invertor file. I have a gut feeling this would be illigal, but if not would this be acceptable to do?

Re: Autodesk Award questions
First: What do the rules say about where the work needs to be done?
Second: This post on a similar but different matter may have some insight. Pay special attention to the second paragraph. No, this is not the rules. But the person making the post is reliable in this sort of thing. |

Re: Autodesk Award questions
Im am assuming you are entering in the 3d design contest
The rule for this award cleary states "If you enter in the 3D design category your entry MUST include use of at least Autodesk Inventor Professional 2011" So technically you can do what you explained becasue you are making it on Solidworks then converting it over to Inventor. You would just have to construct part of it in Inventor, but none the less you still used Inventor 2011. But this wouldn't be in FIRST spirit, cause your entering Autodesk contest using Solidworks, which doesnt sound right at all. Last edited by 384drtysteve101 : 04-01-2011 at 09:21. |
