HI My name is Jerome Kenealy. I'm currently a FRC mentor and a past student of FRC. I'm a Student at Milwaukee Area Tech College and going for TV and Video Production. Im working on my next project that involves FISRT. I would like to know what teams do in there community and in there schools. I would also like to know if any teams supports or helps any FLL or FTC teams. Thanks for your help and have a great 2011 season.

Re: Need Help from Wisconsin Teams

We at Team 930 (the Mukwonago BEARs), have robotics students mentor all of the FLL teams from our school district. Unfortunately, we do not have any local FTC teams. We are actively promoting FIRST throughout our schools, and pushing hard for more incorporation of the STEM program in our curriculum. Hope this helps!

This is very true. CORE is the real deal. I'm shocked that they haven't gotten an EI or Chairman's Award yet - they've earned it.

I would also get a hold of 1714 if you can - they do FLL and Vex as well.

Re: Need Help from Wisconsin Teams

I am from MORE Robotics 1714. We support both VEX and FLL. We also do about 1 Demo per week in the "off" season. We are community based and have students from at least 6 area schools. We are involved in several other projects throughout the year supporting the community. We are also involved with State Fair, Summerfest, we spent one day at the EAA Flyin and other events.

Let me know what you need and I will see what we can do.

This is our second season. Our 4-H team from two high schools is very productive at meetings and they are trying to promote STEM thoughout our school systems. Our coach is active with helping other robotic organizations, but I do not know enough about that to comment. We're still learning. We are concentrating on Public Relations also. You can view a couple videos about our team at www.team3843.com. I am their engineering mentor - retired Professional Engineer. Sid Martin

Re: Need Help from Wisconsin Teams

We are Team #2949 - pwnage and are located in Batavia, Illinois (a western suburb of Chicago). We are a multii-community team that draws from a large geographical area and are part of Fox Valley Robotics/Batavia Robotics (FVR/BR). Several of our team members mentor and participate in FLL, FTC and VEX teams. FVR/BR has FLL, FTC and VEX teams. We volunteer at the 3 large regionals that we host: one FLL double regional, one FTC regional and one VEX regional. We also assisted at the FTC State Regional at IIT. At these regionals we setup the field and electronic systems, volunteer at concessions, announce and cleanup. Some of our former members judge at the FLL events.

In our community we participate in a variety of local and county festivals and events (over a dozen a year). We demo at several area high schools and participate in several community service projects.

Let me know how we can help you. Good Luck!

Denise Faler
