New Router?

I try to follow the manual and when I click setup and then wireless nothing comes up. What am I doing wrong?

I am having the same issue, I cant get into the new bridge from my computer. I've got the computer set to get the ip automaticaly. When i enter 192.168.0.50 (which is supposed to be the default) into a web browser, it doesnt find it. Pinging doesnt work either.

To Kgzak,
I can share my experience with that issue, and really what fixed it was changing to internet explorer as the document suggests.(I was initially using chrome) Hope that helps.

Have you tried resetting your device? Maybe you can give that a shot if its still not working. The instruction to reset are in the document about configuring the radio.

Guess I have to do it at school then. They don't make Internet Explorer for Macs.

You missed the step to set the IP address of your computer. Setting it to get the IP automatically doesn't work.

Is anybody getting the emergency web server page when connected to the router and after having gone to 192.168.0.50? Also, like tons of other people, I am having trouble reseting the router. Any help would be good.

Could you be a little more specific on what kind of trouble you are having with resetting? I followed the instructions exactly as they are and have had success in my first go, my suggestion is maybe you didn't wait for the lights to respond correctly or something of the sort.

I held the button down for 10 seconds (I think I did it for longer than that), let up, and nothing happened. Little blue power light just kept blinking. Look it up on the D-link website and evidently others are having the same problem. Looked it up on Google and evidently people are having the same problem. I don't know what the "emergency web server" page is about. Some people posted about it on the D-link forum but got no reply.

Did you all change the TCP/IP address on your computer or on the classmate if you did not then you should probably change it to the default that it says in the manual in the section of how to set up a your radio or bridge/router.

Yep, I did do that. I believe that is when I get the "emergency web server" page.

In my experience with wireless networking devices the best way to do a complete hardware reset is the 30-30-30 method.

While plugged in hold reset for 30 seconds, without releasing reset unplug it and wait 30 seconds, without releasing reset plug it back in and wait 30 seconds.

I will dig it out later today and see if I can make a guide and possibly replicate your issues.

so they way i reset my router was the way you have described above and got the blinking power light, which you are supposed to, and then i waited approx. 2-3 minutes for the lights to all come back on and be steady. Again i followed the directions outlined in the document "How to Setup your Radio" and it worked for me. In fact it was the only document that worked for me. Sorry if that doesn't help. Good Luck.

Resetting the router/bridge can be easily done with the use of a pencil and hitting the small button behind the router/bridge. Hold the pencil on the button until the lights start flashing in the front of your router/bridge.

For your emergency web server error: I had no error. I just had some trouble connecting to the bridge itself. The main problem was that my computer's ip address and subnet mask were not correctly set.

So look at your subnet mask and also if there are computers near by: shut them down, because sometimes they can actually accidently connect to the bridge not allowing you to connect.



p.s. the black bridge that we recieved last year burned...I didn't like it's configuration anyway.
