Re: Minibots Scoring after Teleop is 'Over'
I would agree with techalex. Worth asking in the Q&A though.

Re: Minibots Scoring after Teleop is 'Over'
I suspect this will be resolved by how the field and the elements are controlled, not by whatever the rules say. From the blue box in <G02>:

This chase sequence will continue until a MINIBOT TRIGGERS the TARGET, or time expires, whichever comes first. If a MINIBOT TRIGGERS the TARGET within the set time period, the TARGET light will illuminate to indicate in which place the MINIBOT finished. (emphasis mine) |

Re: Minibots Scoring after Teleop is 'Over'
This is obviously a perfect Q&A question, but I'm suspecting G68 means that the minibots will have an extra 10 seconds after the end of the match to trigger the tower. There's ample precedent for the GDC letting robots continue moving after the match. In 2007, some pneumatic lifting ramp bots were specifically designed to start lifting 1 sec before the match ended, because the stored air would finish the lift before 10 seconds were up. So I suspect the GDC is going to give the additional 10 seconds and make sure the field is programmed to allow for it.

But notice how the flashing lights are set up this year. The part I quoted before says the lights are active until timer hits zero. I suspect - I don't know, but I suspect - that means the MINIBOT has to hit the trigger before the time runs out, regardless of any rule about objects in motion. |
