Gripper Design
I was just wondering if there are an constraints on the gripper design with which we pick up the tubes? Also, what materials can we use?

Re: Gripper Design
You can't pop the tubes. Other than that there aren't too many restrictions I can think of.

Re: Gripper Design
Some things I could think of:
1) What is your main strategy? You will need to know this before you can think of a good arm design. Do you want to play defense or do you want to just score constantly? 2) Where do you plan on scoring? I would recommend either aiming for the very top row or the bottom row. The middle row will be a risky place because the reduced view. I would recommend an elevator type of device if you are not experienced in designing an arm. We are using an elevator style arm with a wrist type claw. We are also looking at a system to keep the tubes within the claw. |
