Re: Clamshell Activation Code
When trying to activate, yes. When the instructions said not to connect, no (during the Windows setup while making the username, timezone stuff, etc...). I did not connect to the internet until after restarting after running the classmate_update.bat.

Re: Clamshell Activation Code
Are you able to browser from the Classmate to check if Internet connectivity (DHCP) isn't being prevented by a bad IP settings, such as running the Driver Station could cause?

EDIT: Also, I found your posts on the FIRST forums. I've tried the "netsh winsock reset catalog" command with no success. Last edited by RyanN : 12-01-2011 at 12:23. |

Re: Clamshell Activation Code
I fired off an email to FIRST asking for help. I'll report back with any news, although I'm sure they're still swarmed.

Re: Clamshell Activation Code
Found the following threads on the web. Although it said it's for Vista, I think it is still relevant.
http://www.exe-dll-error-repair.com/...windows-vista/ http://www.technewsgeek.com/how-to-f...007232b-error/ Search for "Activation error 8007232B" and you will find tons of threads on this issue. Last edited by mikets : 12-01-2011 at 17:37. |

There is another way given the KMS to use the DNS server you provide to activate it, but it won't take the KMS address I found in the Developer user folder. |

Re: Clamshell Activation Code
Well I went through everything one more time. Still can't activate. I went down the instruction sheet and checked off every item in order.

Re: Clamshell Activation Code
We had this problem and had to run the .bat file from the USB drive supplied by FIRST. After that we got the success message and rebooted fine. It did not work the first few times we ran from the C drive.

Take the laptop and flip it over. There should be a sticker that says "Windows Verified" or something along those lines. You should have something like a 20-digit activation code...give it to windows 7 and you should be good to go.

Re: Clamshell Activation Code
Well... we got ours working. We found that all the new PCs in the classroom had unactivated Windows 7 Professional Product Keys on them. The school still uses Windows XP. We're all good.
Too bad it's not a fix for all teams. |

Re: Clamshell Activation Code
I realize this thread is a month old, but just in case you're still stuck:
You actually need to wait for a small blank dialog box to appear (it has one button: "OK") before you close the cmd.exe window after running the batch file. If you do not do this, you will never get the activation to work. It takes a good minute *after* the "finished" prompt before this dialog box pops up. |
