Classmate's Display is HORRIBLE!

Our laptop for FRC is having trouble with its display... It is looking extremely pixelated and we do not know how to fix it. One probability as to why it is like that is that it is low on virtual memory (and we have already deleted most of the items on it). If that's so, how do you fix that? If not, what is the problem and its solution?

Have you tried increasing the resolution (right click on desktop and select system resolution)?
