2. Even as early as 2004, our bases have a 45* cut at the front and back with just enough room to cover the wheels. This is done to preserve structural integrity and save weight. 3 & 4. It seems like you are accusing us of using our "practice" 2007 robot instead of building a new one . We did not have one. Don't worry - a surprise awaits you at the Florida regional. ![]() |

I know... It's very obvious for anyone who has tuned into the NJ regional webcast.

Re: pic: 2011 FRC 25
Their driveframe in 07 also used large rectangular tubing versus the current plate setup.

Re: pic: 2011 FRC 25
man, those are some big gears on that drivetrain!
(I know you guys do this every year, but why don't you use chain?) snide remarks about it looking similar aside, that is a nice robot! Good luck tomorrow and Saturday! (maybe I'll be able to drop by on saturday and see it in person ) |

Re: pic: 2011 FRC 25
What material are the giant drivetrain gears, if you don't mind my asking? They look almost like brass to me, but I imagine that would wear very quickly...?

Re: pic: 2011 FRC 25
I think 25 purchases their gears from Boston Gear, if so, the spur gears they sell are steel and brass.

Re: pic: 2011 FRC 25
That would make these gears... steel or brass? Or steel and brass?

Re: pic: 2011 FRC 25
Like Snapple the best stuff just got better
Differences from 07 to note 1. Pneumatic grip and tilt 2. 6 wheel drive 3. Tire dia totally different 4. Drive chassis new design note motor placement 5. Count the tower sections 6. Tower lift is 8xfaster. We programmed it to 1/10. Speed to keep it from killing itself and others 7. Haven't had on board compressor in years Now if we could get that blastedminibot on thepost there would be something else to see Monkey wrenches have a minibot that amazes. Rightnow they are the team to beat at NJ |

Oh, and the Drivetrain seems a bit different aside from what you listed. I meant to ask Shaun about it, but it appears way more agile than previous 25 robots. |
