It was a great decision at that! He is a great driver and does an outstanding job, especially for a 6th grader. There is a lot of pressure being a member of the drive team, and he seems to handle it and take it with ease.
On another related note about age and what makes a high school student. We just had a student graduate from our team last year, he had just turned 16 at the time, making him 11 and 12 his first year as a member of our team.
