Apparently we aren't very "Creative". Can we get someone from 190 to advise us on creativity?

Never thought about the Engineering Awards Quinfecta, now I want to join the club.
Adam, when most of us look at your robots, we aren't thinking, "How Creative!"

What we are thinking is more like, "Holy Crap!"

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

Re: Engineering Awards Quinfecta

I like the idea of this being an annual thread! Looks like we still need to get creativity. It's a cool club to almost be a part of.

It would not be PC if I designed it, but I have had that feeling upon seeing some of the HOF team robots. Also frequently have "Why didn't we think of that" effect at events. I am a fan of "deceptively simple" designs which I believe are not so simple to engineer but make the most robust robots.

Re: Engineering Awards Quinfecta

Very cool thread Joe!

It looks like 1678 has joined the Quinfecta Club this year! With the Creativity Award at Inland Empire and the Engineering Excellence Award at Sacramento, we now have exactly one of each of the Engineering Awards Quinfecta!

Also, interesting point, each one of our 5 Engineering Awards is associated with one of our 5 Regional Wins in 1678's history.

Re: Engineering Awards Quinfecta

I am proud to say that Team 271 is also in the Quintfecta Club! Our first award in each category are as follows:

GM Industrial Design - 2003 - SBPLI Long Island Regional
Delphi Driving Tomorrow's Technology - 2007 - SBPLI Regional
Rockwell Innovation in Control - 2008 - NYC Regional
Xerox Creativity - 2009 - NYC Regional
Delphi Engineering Excellence - 2010 - SBPLI Regional
Motorola Quality - 2014 - SBPLI Regional

It's an honor to be in a category with such great names in FIRST.
