Sounds like he got em in the ^%##. Anyhow I don't see how this applies to our bot. Unless people plan to throw boxes at it (which I think is a bad idea). It can clear out the human boxes if people want to put them in front of it, go ahead . Also if they want to ram us we have a surprise waiting (secret ninja auto mode)!! After seeing all the matches I can't wait to see our bot in action. It should be great at getting the bins over, even if we aren't there first cuz we're 125" wide and have a big net, but I'm always too optomistic. I've got a vid I'd like to show but I need to talk to some people on the team before I release it (one of our Auto modes).... I don't mean to sound pompous, I'm just really looking forward to the competition and excitement. We're usually the first weekend (Kennedy regional), and after those I'm usually burnt out and need a break, heh. I'm chompin at the bit watching all these other regionals.

I haven't seen anything on how team 45 did, I'd love to see some vids or pics.

I saw 3 or 4 qualifying matches today over the webcast, and it seemed 179 was having a few issues.
1) They had major problems driving in a straight line in all but one match
2)their autonomy is pretty slow
3)they dont have too much power
4)manueverability is poor because they are so long
5)They cannot let anyone else on the ramp, alliance partner, or otherwise

The only match that they seemed to be very effective in was one where no other team's autonomy worked, leaving them plenty of time to get to the top, in which they did take out the ENTIRE top, but lost anyways. Most of the time, another team got behind them and pushed them out of the way. One big problem they seemed to be having was running into the sides of the ramp before getting on it, because of the width of their robot.

Too bad 179 could not slinky over the wall but when they were quite effective during some of the matches at the Central Florida regionals. Swamp Thing deployed and made its way up the ramp completely centered and knocked down the entire wall in autonomous mode. That was an exciting match.
