Mostly, the reason they are designed like that is to cut down on weight; secondly to look cool!
The wheel on the right (2004) is about half the weight as the 2003 wheel. I'll try to get justin on CD again to give his opinion/facts about the wheels..Me, Justin (MiniD67), and a bunch of students and mentors think it would be cool to have spinners on the bot, but I don't think they'd hold up too well in competition... from a technical standpoint, how the heck are you getting onto the platform? judgiing from the pics i'd say those rae no more than 8 inches in diameter....please correct me if im wrong....or if you have some super cool secretthing like HOT always does just tell me to shhh and ill wait til the GLR.
