Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"

V-Neun: a verb meaning to make a straightforward entity seem mysterious.

Used in a sentence:

I think instead of showing my hyphenated name, I'll just V-Neun it to use the initial of one last name and the entire other last name, that way people will always ask me what the "V" stands for.

I hope JVN doesn't get too emotional about all this attention. When we were traveling the jungles of Borneo together and he saved my life, nearly sacrificing his own, he said "Gary, if we get out of this alive, we're going to mentor FIRST teams and just fade into the background - no more excitement for me". <sob> I love you man - you're an inspiration to us all. I'm proud to have a twin half-brother like you. I can't change my profile to add your name, it would just.......be........too.....<sob>......painful for me.

Besides Paul, you've gotta admit, JVN has a nice ring to it.

Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"

Can the same word have two entirely different meanings?

Here we go:

V-Neun: a verb meaning to complicate something simple. Also, a verb meaning to simplify something complicated.

or, better yet:

V-Neun: a verb meaning to simplfy something complicated

Vielkind-N: a verb meaning to complicate something simple.

I have decided that I will now call you John Vielkind-N!!

I think V-Neun should just be one of those verbs that can be used for anything, and doesn't really mean anything.

"What the V-Neun... I'm so sick of all this V-Neunin V-Neun. If only they'd bring back the V-Neun, I'd be totally V-Neun."

Now we just need to get "V-Neun" onto Dan Green's list.
"Sweet Sassy Molassy! Those technokittens really V-Neun'd it!"

I'm gonna start using Copioli to mean "Totally Sweet!".
As in: "WHOA MAN! That gearbox is COPIOLI!!!"
It seems somehow appropriate

Hey man...
I thought we swore we'd never talk about that.
It's just... too difficult to think about.

Totally agreed. We should definitely start a dictionary of words/terms related to names.

Like, "Man, after all that celebrating for our regional win, we just Leung-ed out" (aka, passed out)

I call my name for teamless orphans! Using it in a sentence:

"Those poor Eddies... they all need help."

On second thought, it can also mean either someone who sports way too much lime green, someone who dresses up a a superhero, or somone who flings around fictitious FIRST mascots in a chat room. Using it in a sentence:

"Those poor Eddies... they all need help."

Ooh, can I be in on this??

Has anyone on your team ever Clocked (broken) something very large, like say a monorail, or something small like a drill motor tranny??

Guilty as charged on both counts by a group of my FIRST peers!!

Haha, well....I imagined it to be a good gesture kindof thing...that one person would nominate the name of another person, as opposed to us naming ourselves....but I'll let "clocked" slide.

PS - 600th Post! w00t!

Oh yeah! Leung totally has to be the synonym for sleep, sleepy, sleeping, passed out, etc.

Ken is the most efficient sleeper I know. Standing up, at the scoring table, during the pig roast, whatever. That guy can sleep!

I remember back in 2001 that I would wakeup on the east coast for an 8:00 AM class and Ken would still be up from the night before. I think his sleep schedule flipped around at one point in time such that it was "correct" again.
