Fiberglass chassis, two-speed Andymark transmission, nifty tires... oh, I'm jealous. Awesome 'bot.

Re: pic: Fiberglass robot chassis

Is that really fiberglass? Looks a lot like aluminum though. But your robot looks really cool. Dualies on the rear, very nice. Extra traction. Your robot looks awesome.

Re: pic: Fiberglass robot chassis

That looks really cool, how much did the fiberglass weigh all together? It seems like it would be nice and light. Also how strong is it since it is made of fiberglass (I have never used it before so i don't know how strong it is or isn't)

Re: pic: Fiberglass robot chassis

Where'd you hide the front wheels? And the robot looks aluminum or plastic. However, you'd be surprised ad the number of colors and textures fiberglass comes in. Last year we had both green and brown, and I wouldn't be surprised if fiberglass also came in white.

Exactly. When you live in a town with no major industry, and it comes down to having nice things or being able to go to Atlanta, it's not a hard decision. We just have to figure out more creative ways to beat two-speed fiberglass robots without spending as much.

Check out our school,

98 percent hispanic
99 percent on federally assisted lunch programs
for 99 percent of our students, the teachers are the only people with degrees they know
we raised all of our money through fundraising.
The school is located in the highest crime rate location in the state
We have no machining capabilities at all accept for hand tools.
Our schools location is as such that there are no business or companies within a distance that we can get support like many teams do
But we don't let all this stop us, because we have desire, and the bottom line is, it is not baout the bots, its about the experience and the changing of the culture that promotes science and technology.
Our community need it!!!!
If you can build all your own stuff, great for you, maybe one day we will be able too.
In the mean time, we did not let our status hold us back.
We have competed in the MATE National ROV Championships against universities like MIT and we are the current National Champions!!!!

www.marinetech.org

In the meantime, the whole point was to share, gracious professionalism, by sharing

creativepultrusions.com
Thanks
