With the old logo they used to be ok with some modifications, such as the CD logo, the New Apple Core logo(team 93) and a few others, but with this new logo they seem to advise against any sort of modification.

We used a 3d model of the FIRST logo in our animation last year and it wasn't DQ'ed. I think since we're using it FOR a FIRST competition, it's OK, but you may want to just ask permission and they'll probably give it to you (I can't see why they wouldn't want teams using the logo in their animation).

On a side note: in the FIRST promo video before kickoff, it appears they borrowed our theme from the 2005 animation:"Be FIRST", flashiness and all. If anyone wants to see this, look on your 2005 animations disc (Team 971 in the Sillicon Valley Regional). We don't have it on the web yet
