Now I NEED to know, what are you using for a bearing for the turret? It looks like a simple Lazy Susan or similar piece, but the pictures don't show enough detail to tell for certain. We are noodling this part out right now as well. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

We got some beautiful lazy susan bearings from Lee Valley tools http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.a...50,43298,43316

The one in the picture appears to be similar to the one we got from Home Depot... but you can't fit a ball THROUGH the one from Home Depot, so it didn't make the cut.

Thank you both soooooooooo much. The links you provided were both perfect!!! I will get one on order, or pick one up from Home Depot or Lowe's, today. McMaster-Carr would ship "within 2 weeks". That is cutting it a little thin for the time line we set for the team this year, so local purchase may be the way to go.

Hmm.. interesting...

Our McMaster orders get shipped on the day of order, or the next day if we order late. We've made 4 orders from them this build season, and all have come in very fast.

A point to consider... We attempted using a lazy susan in a prior year for a turret.
What we found was if there was ANY wobble of the vertical part of the turret the lazy susan would eventually spread a little wider and the ball bearings would fall out.
So if you decide to follow that path, make certain, you don't have any wobble of the vertical. Or find a method to keep the two plates close together, so the bears don't fall out.
