Re: pic: 612 ready to roll
I'm the captain of the mechanical team for Team 612.
This is a picture of our shooting mechanism. Our main shooting wheels are mounted low (to lower center of gravity) and this lexan tube brings the ball up to a rotating turret. The picture is looking up (you can see the ceiling tiles). Nate Laverdure |

Re: pic: 612 ready to roll
Neat! So you have a turret? I should have noticed those ceiling tiles.
(Note to self: don't post at night, while you're asleep. ) |

Re: pic: 612 ready to roll
Yeah, we have a lexan turret mounted on a foot-wide bearing. It'll be manually and automatically controlled. I don't want to give too much away, but I'm pretty excited about it. I haven't seen any other pictures on this forum that come anywhere close to what we have built.
We'll post some more pictures as the deadline approaches. We'll be at Richmond/VCU and Annapolis regionals. |

By the way what kind of drive train are you boasting on that bad boy? Considering that you are half me and i am half you I'm hoping its something nifty. looks nice, keep in touch, come back to Merrimack sometime soon. -Nateross... minus Nate |

![]() You know your pit crate? Remember who designed that? That was totally me. I was building another for 612 for the past two weeks, and at the same time supervising the mech team (actually, explaining how to use things like wire strippers and needle-nose pliers). ![]() ![]() Last edited by Nate Laverdure : 23-02-2006 at 18:18. |

Re: pic: 612 ready to roll
ah i see, that explains why its such a total ripoff of the Chopshop crate, yet totally not nearly as cool
nah its cool i know your dad did alot on ours and nashuas. we use them to this day... their l33t! now is yours for bot and tools or one for bot one for tools like us? cause if its just for tools, get a toolchest in there like us. do it if you're tough! ![]() |

Toolchests don't make you tough. However, plastic drawers do make you manly. ![]() Last edited by Nate Laverdure : 24-02-2006 at 17:56. |
