Re: pic: 623 in the works
Holy crap, this is a big scary. We are using the same ball pickup method (polycord) the same basic launcher design (single wheel, but we're using a different skyway pneumatic wheel), treaded wheels (although ours are modified kits in a 6WD) as well as a 80/20 on kit frame box shape construction. However, ours is alot shorter ~3 feet and uses a polycarb hopper. Speaking of which, how will the judges see the balls at the start? Our design also has vertical electronics mount (can't tell if you do, but I don't think so) and a crummy turret (I can't tell if you have one). Despite those little differences, it still scares me how similar our bots are.

Re: pic: 623 in the works
The turning is two wheel drive and a bit yucky but it works. We didn't use any turret and after taking this picture drilled a serries of holes down the length of ducting. We're a mix defence/single placement shooter. Despite being a huge robot we were able to run the entire thing off four motors.
Since im the one dealing with electronics it made me very happy. |
