Its is a V8...it is not a corvette engine since those are typically dressed up like this, or this (not a vette engine) with custom valve covers and such. It looks like a short block possibly a SUV or Pickup truck, thats my guess

I'm going to guess that it is a Corvette (or GM) LS2 engine. In one of his earlier posts he explains how the division he works in does stuff w/ the Corvette engines.
