The kids used tank treads as chains (stronger) and fixed a link of tred to the basket.
The rest works the same as the tank tread would on the floor. Except with a fixed anchor point, when the chain spins it lifts the basket. 2 motors provide the power to get the job done and a little extra in case they want to lift something heavy in the future.
