Showing off again Jake?

The big question is ... Can you get it to balance two goals on a teeter-totter bridge?

I bet that thing could beat up your Autonomous ATV. Bring it to Drexel next year and let's see.

I plan on applying to Foster-Miller for co-op. It looks like an awesome place to work.

Re: pic: Foster-Miller SWORDS Robot

One of our college mentors co-oped there for 6 months and she's going back again. She was directly programing one of the robots that they have. She did a lot of work for them and loved it. I'm thinking about going there for my third co-op. It sounds really cool to work there.

Is that 48's improved-defense 'bot for the Championship?

With those treads they might be finally able to stop 1114.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

Re: pic: Foster-Miller SWORDS Robot

Am I seeing this correctly? This is a robot that is designed to kill people? Am I the only one that has a problem with that?

EDIT? I really don't know. Is that black thing on there some sort of gun? Or is it something else, or for some otherpurpose?

aparrently so...
well in the wrong hands it would be bad but you know, anything that moves on its own and is armed down to the last bolt is still pretty awesome

I expect you are not.

Would you feel better about the robot if it had de-mining devices on it instead of guns?

What's on the robot is what seems like a M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon).

This vehicle is capable of mounting the M249 or M240. Weight is approx 250# fully loaded. Max speed around 5mph. 4-6hr battery life with the option of "sleeping" for up to 7 days. And it is a blast to drive.

It is probably not stretching things to assume you mean "blast" literally!
