That's going to be one awesome cart, nice work. I can even see a cold cathode tube dangling off of it near the bottom... our cart (as of the whim of one of last year's seniors) does have a green "underglow", but it's powered off a 9-volt battery, and it definitely doesn't drive itself.

Re: pic: Deep into my special project

Thanks. I'm putting everything I got into this, since I'm not much of a help to the robot. My main position is team captain / behind the scenes dude.

Yup, that's a cold cathode hanging down. My initial test off of the KOP battery is right here. The programmer piped his head into the project stating that he could program it to work off the Vics, which is possible. We ghettojacked the wires to the robot's motor Vic and -poof!- it lit up as you hit the pedals. Awesome stuff.

Feature List Includes:
[*] Two-wheel drive with four (4) casters as support; max speed =/- walking
[*] Eight (8) green cold cathodes underside controlled by the driver
[*] Dual joystick driving capabilities
[*] Programmer's laptop resting station complete with docking and custom wiring for easy tethering solution
[*] Blue twirling light and audible alert (adjustable) programmed to a switch/button for safety warning
[*] Water bottle holder
[*] A place to hold the robot (TBD)
[*] Convenient battery holder underside to power the cart
[*] Awesome looking black-and-yellow striped paint job!!!

Re: pic: Deep into my special project

Our team has made a new crate and a new cart this year also. Anyone going to Wisconsin or Buckeye come check them out. I think they're really cool.

Re: pic: Deep into my special project

If it's two wheel drive why are there 2 drive sprockets on each of the transmissions?

We're attending Buckeye, so we can check out each other's carts. Ought to be cool.

Because I'm so "lazy" I didn't feel like pulling it off. That's last year's chassis, so unless it'll do more harm than good I figured why go through the trouble. We had enough pain pulling apart last year's superawful cart (the wooden part) because of it's "brilliant" assembly job.
