Actually, these are AGM's (Absorbed Glass Mat), so it's just a solid mass inside the case. Even if you break the case (or indeed if you removed the case, as long as the contents were isolated from shorts), it would still work because it's all solidified into fiberglass and lead. No, you don't want it in your eye, but you also don't want to walk on the sun, and there's very little chance of either happening.

And for reference, I'm the guy who makes everyone wear safety glasses when they're FILING. I think the battery will be okay.

In the video, we have four individually driven "slick wheels". No bumpers yet, sorry. And in this case, we are all wearing safety glasses because the robot is running.

We will be testing a wide chassis today and adding weight for a more realistic evaluation.
