No. I guess I didn't clarify this enough: the robot eventually ends up perpendicular to the floor, resting on the top of the platform, with most of the robot weight on the orange arm. The orange part ends up being almost-flat up against the top of the platform. The PVC interaction with the lower bar is only to help us stay in place while we winch up, and the PVC is well above the platform at the end.
