The arm can place balls in the goal or, more importantly, remove them from goals.
Looks good, Wayne, I am looking forward to seeing it perform. Eric |

The ball grabber is just a little stronger than those carnival stuff animal ones
And yes we can remove balls with it. We can turn, raise and lower at 80 degrees a second. We can, if we had to, throw balls around. Using the FP motors we designed a gear box that looks like an overgrown servo. It should be very durable. Wayne Doenges Beware of TnT!!! ![]() |

when I saw the picture I was pretty sure the arm was built to lift robots

Unfortunately the arm came in over weight. With everything on the bot, it weighs 183 pounds. So we don't use the arm.
We do take it to the competitions and show it off. At the Buckeye regional we won the Leadership in Control award. On our control board we have a 1/5th scale model of the arm with a glove attached to the end. Wherever the glove goes the arm goes. Just like the mouse on your computer. Also, because of the weight of the arm we couldn't possibly lift a robot. But it would be a site to see Wayne Doenges |

That glove thing is awesome!!!
We tried to do a robot that draws at school, but we didn't have time to develop the glove thing so we used joysticks. Servos are easy fo positioning using a potentiometer, but how did you to that with bigger motors? I know 67 had a similar thing last year. |
