Request for HTML to be allowed.
As you can see, my signiture is getting long, and it would be easy to shrink using HTML. Set limits to it (a few lines of text and a small pic), and if someone gets out of hand, warn them, then ban them. I think allowing HTML and limiting it would allow users to be more creative without getting out of hand.
Thanks. ![]() |

I have to agree with Joe...vB code does the same as html for the most part. How would that make your sig shorter? BTW...I really wish you would shorten it....and I didn't say that quote I'm quoted for!! I stole it long ago from someone's post on the old forums...

Ban Ed's signiture
This might not be the greatest in gracious professionalism but I am all forward to Banning Ed extremely long queer signatures.
I don't know, If I am the only one who thinks this, I will shut up. By the way. The MARQUEE is an built in applet in only IE5. So Netscape and AOL users can't see the MARQUEE, and it would all turn to a big mess. Plus the signatures would be the same length down but just booing around in the screen. A better option is to use a JavaScript banner. Where one message would come up at a time and would be control by the web master by how many milliseconds she/he sets it too. |

There is a 10 line limit (i think i set it to that) If a signature is over the limit right now, it will stay that way until they edit their profile. At that time, it will notify them that it is too long, and won't let them proceed until they shorten it. (this was put into place last week some time) |

AOL users can see a scrolling marquee. And having the scrolling marquee would be a lifesaver. Could you add that?

I object to support for the scrolling marquee. Supporting proprietary standards is in no one's interest. Instead, support only open standards (http://www.w3c.org/). Microsoft would love to lock you into using IE in perpetuity by making web pages incompitable with any other browser. We shouldn't allow this to happen and so shouldn't support proprietary standards that help them to accomplish this.

I have a better idea than a scrolling marquee. How about we ban eddie and limit signatures to 4 lines

AOL 6.0 Uses Netscape 6.0
I thought AOL 6.0 uses Netscape 6.0 making the Marquee incompatible.
And scrolling long messages isn't the greatest idea. If a line gets too long they might use multiple lines. They are three behaviors of marquee * scroll *slide *alternate Marquee were never meant to be long list of anything. Usually just a sentence @ most. What is best though is JavaScript banner, where it displays one message after another automatically. A good example is http://www.apple.com But as lot of people say a signature is a signature. One or two quotes from maybe a famous scientist maybe all right. But not a bunch of crud that no one reads or do care about and just makes people mad because you have to scroll down to see the next reply. |

BTW, I still using Netscape Messenger instead of Outlook. It's faster, neater, easier to use, and all-around better. |
