Stupidest thing you did or saw someone do at Nats!

Ok people we all know you have stories... time to dish, What was the stupidest thing you did or saw someone do at Nats!

Here's my story, I went to the team party and figured I'd yoink a lemonade for later. So I put it in my back pocket. I walked with a bunch of new friends to the exit to Epcot and was standing there when all of a sudden I was bum rushed by my friends and was knocked in a way that I landed on the seat of a flower bed. I was shocked when that happened but what shocked me even more was the fact that my butt was now wet. I got up and pulled the exploded bottle of lemonade out of my shorts and saw that I now had a pocket full of lemonade and that it was slowly draining out and running down my leg! That was interesting!
Thank you Jess, Robby and Ken for that memory!!

There are pictures too (I shouldn't mention that cause they'll end up on this site soon) oh boy!

The stupidest thing i did, was drop 3 balls out of our basket in the semi finals against 60 and 64, resulting in a win by only 1 ball, when in fact, if i hadn't dropped them we would have won by 4. I also shot myself after that. I figuerd the match was over, and we lost, but then we got lucky and 64 died

I almost ran into a puppater in the Tapestry of Dreams parade on Thursday night. If you don't know what I'm talking about, see the Championship section of pictures.

Thumbs down My Nomination for Stupidest Thing Seen

My nomination for the stupidest thing I saw at Nationls was the display of total disregard for the patrons sitting in the stands during the awards presentations. Several wrestling matches, hand stances, loud talk and general discourtesies were displayed by those who chose not to be in the stands but rather in the courtyard area as you enter the stands. I certainly hope that some type of security will be in place next year in order to channel those members to other areas of the arena. It would certainly make it more pleasant for those of us who are there to enjoy the presentations.

At Nationals? Well... in the hotel on Wednesday night, our team captain tried breakdancing to the Mario Brothers theme, did something resembling a flip-like maneuver and fell flat on his arse in front of the room door, at which point our roommate opened the door into his skull after coming back to get a soda.

That's the best G-rated one I can think of.

(Though I'm sure my teammate Mike can top that with the Beatles incident on Thursday.)

forget the beatles incident

the best thing that happened was when a few of us were in MGM on sunday. We had just gotten off rockin roller-coaster and had 5 min to get across the park to Who wants to be a millionaire. So the 7 of us make a mad dash. As soon as we start running, our driver (Josh) starts screaming..."The BEES! They're everywhere, run away!" and we all just die laughing. So we start running again. Now he gets to the front of the pack and starts yelling "Micky! I see you! Come Back Mickey!!!!" We ran past a small street show during this and in the show one of the chacters says "there's a lot of craziness going on around here" 4 of our people stop behind them, scream, then continue running....

It was a you had to be there moment. And yes we did make it there in time and my friend damien made it to the hot seat

Question Dumbest Thing I Saw

I don't know what team it was but at our All Star Hotel(Sports) I saw some kids packing up and tossing(!) their luggage from the second floor balcony to the ground below! I even heard one of the kids announce "I'll give twenty bucks to whoever catches my bag" to which another replied "That'll pay for the hospital bill!". I don't know but isn't that why elevators were invented!
FIRST has some of the brightest and best students in the country but they're still kids and at times lack discression. I found this out alot being a chaperone at the Nationals. Chasing after kids at morning curfew got old quick!
Like they always say: Youth is wasted on the young.

haha those are all great!
Who else got stuck in the rain on FRIDAY?! We were having dinner at Morocco then we were running out of park time and we wanted to go on Honey I shrunk the audience and the other ride right with that, so of course we exit the restaurant.
DOWN POUR! it is raining like crazy, and of course.... what do we do? RUN THROUGH THE RAIN! HAHA it was SOO much fun! we were just screaming the whole time, asking people directions, cause of course the ride is on the OPPOSITE side of the park! When we got there, there were only like 15 people and we were SOAKING WET! The Entire time we were runnign we were jumping in puddles trying to get each other wet, which is okay because DISNEY PUDDLES are CLEAN!! haha! THank engineers for Water-Proof Camera Cases!

Then of course on saturday when they released the free water! I think EVERY BODY on my team get DRENCHED, it was SOOO MUCH FUN! I felt bad about wasting the water... but I was hot... and it was FUN FUN FUN!

hmm... On the bus ride back on Saturday the entire bus was signing with the RADIO! ahah that was fun! As well was the singing at the Wrap Party, waiting for the Sign to Light and the Fireworks.. haha a countdown every minute to try to trick the FIRST/DISNEY people to START IT EARLY!! haha and Cheering for EVERYBODY that PASSED BY!! HAHA IT WAS GREAT

LONG LIVE FIRST!

Ok, this isn't really stupid, but it was pretty funny at the time...

[which might have been due to the Pirahna energy drink and the pixy-stix I had consumed that morning]

...but, I was in the pit around lunch time on Friday, and I looked over across the isle into a pit-neighbor's pit, and I swear the whole floor of their pit was covered by sleeping FIRST participants. [If only I had enough duct tape to get them all.... j/k]

And it's a slight team joke, but the whole episode with Andrew, his jersey, and Mandy Moore.

Sorry for the double post, but i can't believe i forgot this...

apologies to anyone who was near us, but at the team party, as we were packed in like chattle waiting for the fireworks to start, Conrad, myself, four or five of the LunaTechs and a bunch of other people near us started singing songs at the top of our lungs. I remember doing Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, 99 bottles of beer on the wall, and a bunch of other random songs.

It remains my best memory of this years sad team party, aside from getting "<Aaaaaa>"ed everywhere we went, at the competition, or in the park.
