Given that Cobo has changed its policies for this event, it's very likely that Ford has, too. I contacted FF when I did Cobo and haven't gotten an email back from them, but I'm assuming it's the same deal. Just don't expect your hacksaw to make it through security

That is certainly good news and I will definitely share with my team!

This policy was implemented by the NFL in the fall of 2013, after championship left Atlanta. The St. Louis Rams left for Los Angeles in 2016. So there's basically only a 2 year period where this policy was in effect for the Edward Jones Dome, and the FIRST Championship had already been situated there for multiple years before it went into effect.

Re: So You Are Going to Championship (Detroit)!

Everyone worrying about transportation, remember this: not a single major league sports team will be playing when Champs is in Detroit. Both the Red Wings and the Pistons didn't make it to the playoffs and the Tigers are away at Baltimore, and of course football doesn't play in the springtime. I also looked at visitdetroit.com and couldn't find any major events occurring at the same time.

So sad about this.
We went to so many Cardinals games in St. Louis during the CMP there.
Such an easy walk from the hotels, a beautiful ballpark with knowledgable and friendly midwestern fans.

Hopefully next year......

• Cameras with lenses longer than five inches. Decals, stickers, confetti or glitter
•
• Electronic equipment including laptop computers, video recorders, tripods & wearable video cameras including Go Pros.

You suppose the intention to the 5" lens is to still allow this in? Attached to the camera and with the UV lens off it is just under 5". Off the camera it is 5.5"
Your camera is legal. Any camera, really. Mine is slightly larger, and I had asked if I could still bring it in and got the OK.

Would you be able to post a screenshot of this email?

Thanks

Our scouting team is currently waiting for both division announcements and sandwiches...

At this point I'll be happy with either.

Re: So You Are Going to Championship (Detroit)!

Does anybody have any information about the seating in Cobo Center? Bleachers? Stadium chairs?

Yeah cobo doesn't really have stadium seating that i can remember, its a convention center so FIRST is probably bringing in their own.

I found this picture online, but no idea if that's accurate. http://www.stadiumpostcards.com/cobo...e1523461255381

That accurately shows what the Cobo Hall Arena was, but as it says in your link they demolished it. The FRC event takes place at at the Cobo Center. https://www.firstchampionship.org/detroit-home

Here's a link to what the field setup will look like with the seating layout (I'm guessing those sections are bleachers they are bringing in. https://www.firstinspires.org/roboti...detroit-layout
