After four long, and tiresome years I have finally made it! Currently I'm looking at the following to apply to:

Kettering University
University of St. Thomas
Arizona State University
Assumption College
Florida Institute of Technology
Le Moyne College
New England Institute of Technology
Mercy College

Currently, I've been accepted only to:
University of Advancing Technologies

Re: Class of 2019, where are you applying?

I can't believe its already been four years I'll miss being a Narwhal (unless I end up at UCSD ) but I've enjoyed every minute of my experience and can't wait for one last competition season (as a student). Anyways, here's my WIP (Work in Progress) of a list:
  • Georgia Tech
  • UT Austin
  • Purdue
  • University of Wisconsin- Madison
  • Rose Hulman Institute of Technology
  • UW- Seattle
  • San Jose State University
  • Cal Poly SLO
  • UCs: I, LA, SB, SC, SD, Berkeley, Davis
  • Harvey Mudd
  • Brown?

Currently, I'm applying to major in either Computer or Electrical Engineering, however, being that I don't want any of my Business/ Marketing skills from the last four years to go to waste, I'm looking into each school to see if they offer joint programs between their School of Engineering and School of Business or 5 year tracks to double major. Wherever I end up, I know I'll have a great college experience and hope to not be too far from a FIRST event/team/program

Re: Class of 2019, where are you applying?

Happy to answer questions about the University of Tennessee, although not an engineering student. Nearly everyone I know here is though, so someone can answer at least!

UT is also a very very FIRST friendly campus. Our alumni club has over 50 members!

Re: Class of 2019, where are you applying?

I'm sad that this'll be my last year as a student... (but at least I can come back as a mentor!)
My top choice right now is Georgia Tech (already applied). I planning on Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Robotics. Also thinking about minors (such as robotics minors, industrial design, Electrical engineering, etc).

Re: Class of 2019, where are you applying?

If anyone wants to talk to me about Cal Poly POMONA, let me know.

But more importantly, if you want to talk about Political Science and how that translates with skills you have learned in FIRST and amazing things you can do at the intersection of politics, robots, and education, please please please let me know. I'm thrilled with how many people become engineers as a result of FIRST but we also really need people who understand the science and tech majoring and working across many disciplines.

I also want to stress, don't pick a major* based on what someone else tells you to do or what you think you have to do. Just because you "built robots" in high school doesn't mean that's what you're wed to. Conversely, just because you "built robots" in high school doesn't mean that you can't continue doing it.

*Actually, avoid picking a major altogether if you're institution will let you. Mine, unfortunately, makes that rather difficult.

As a current freshman in electrical engineering at UCSD if you have any questions just let me know. Keep in mind freshman, I've only done a few weeks, but I did summer session on campus so it's not quite as bad.
