Car Nack Predicts 18-1

Placing power cubs on the scale is difficult. You will never see a match with more than 10 power cubes on one side of the scale. In the majority of matches you will see six or less on one side of the scale.

I'd imagine so. Bear Cubs don't weigh as much as their mothers, but they're still pretty heavy. Lifting one in the air could certainly prove to be challenging.

O Great and Wise Car Nack,

Can we also receive your vision on the likelihood of death, taxes, and reversion to the mean?

This is probably a little conservative. I would go with at least one side of the scale having less than six in quals around 95% or higher.

Redoing the CAD alone would be un-bear-able.

Re: Car Nack Predicts 18-1

Maybe FRC robots could get roles as the cops in a remake of Casablanca as they go out and round up the ursual suspects.

As far as the median emptier pan being no greater than six cubes, absolutely.

As far as ten being the maximum ever, it depends on how the meta plays out. While I won't be surprised if Car Nack's prediction holds, I think it's entirely possible that the switches will turn out to be indefensible. That is, both will be soundly neutralized in the first 30 seconds or so of teleop, especially in eliminations. This would redirect most of the activity of both alliances towards the scale, leading to an arms race. If that happens, alliances will emerge with two scalebots, or a scalebot and a gopher who between them can fill that first layer (maximum 11, more likely 10) and begin work on a second layer of cubes.

Car Nack's fat finger missed a letter. Perhaps the more astute readers might be able to understand the prediction.

I'm sorry, I'm only reasonably astute... is that enough astuteness?
