As you may be aware, RobotPy is not officially supported by FIRST, and so if you run into issues at a competition the official support (CSAs, FTAs) may not be fully equipped or sometimes even unwilling to assist your team.
- If you're having connection issues, and your code is deployed successfully, they *definitely* should be able to help you. The same diagnostic steps apply to all FRC languages. Just tell them to treat you like a Java team if that makes them feel better.
- If it's not a python syntax error, then they should have some general knowledge of WPILib and be able to provide suggestions related to that. It's the same underlying code.
If that fails, have no fear, there are still a couple of options for you:
- (preferred) Visit our gitter channel and mention @virtuald/@auscompgeek/@Twinters007 -- don't send me a private message, send a message on the main channel, that way others can answer your question if they know the answer.
- You can also ask the CSA to contact me through the CSA slack channel. If it's a REAL EMERGENCY, my phone number is posted there as well.
Good luck to all the teams competing!
