Central Illinois Regional

I am thrilled to be attending CIR for the third time this year. I'm excited to see what all the teams can do in this crazy game. We have teams coming from Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Iowa, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Turkey! Last year was a great show and had awesome matches, and I'm sure this year will be just as good.

Wave is excited to return again this year to CIR. We had a fantastic time last year. The venue was amazing, the volunteers even better, and getting to compete with and against old friends is always a plus.

Good luck to the teams and see you all tomorrow.

Re: Central Illinois Regional

Huge thanks to our fantastic partners 2481 and 4645 for completing our alliance. 2481 world class 2 cube auto really help with the early capture of the scale. 4645 showed absolute tremendous growth through the elimination rounds always improving.

Congratulations to the Finalist 3695, 2826, and 4096 you guys were a great alliance full of strong robots and glad to see all of you at champs. You deserve to be there. Big thanks 648 stepping in and battling in the second match of the finals.

CIR from what I have seen is easily one of the most competitive events so far. It was full of competitive robots. 1736, 2040, 4143, 4213,4256, 4655 all showed great intakes and scaling ability. Then there the 4 crazy effective short shooter robots at the event 2081, 2220, 2338, 5442 the amount of cubes they shot up on the scale is still unbelievable to me.
It’s a shame more teams can’t be sent to worlds because there many robots that deserve to go from this super competitive regional. CIR is a regional to watch if you want to see great matches with a lot of strong scoring robots.

Finals 1

Finals 2

Re: Central Illinois Regional

What an awesome 5th year for the Central Illinois Regional. Huge thanks to all of the great volunteers who helped make the event such a great experience for all the teams in attendance.

Big thanks to our amazing alliance partners from 1756 and 4645.

It was great to get to team up with 1756 on an elim alliance, once again. You guys were great alliance captains and we were honored to join you as first mates on the number 1 alliance. You've got a very effective robot equally capable at careful scale stacking and pressuring switches. Your climb technique is also incredibly versatile and well executed. Great job, guys! As always, the Roboteers look forward to the abundance of opportunities to cross paths again in the future. Good luck at 7 Rivers in a few weeks and we will see you in Detroit!

4645, it was great working with you guys throughout the elims run. It was awesome seeing our entire alliance collectively come together after each match to help resolve each minor mechanical challenge that came up during the heat of the elimination matches. You guys persevered and were awesome in helping fill that vault throughout the playoffs. Good luck at Midwest in a couple weeks and we will see you in Detroit, as well!

Also, huge shoutouts to the finalist alliance of 3625, 2826, 4096, and 648 (who stepped in when called on for Finals match 2). Those were some hard fought finals matches, and it was a ton of fun sharing the field with all of you for them. Congrats to 3625 and 2826 for earning spots in Detroit by the way of wild cards and 4096's by the well deserved Chairman's Award win! Best of luck at all your future competitions this season and we look forward to seeing you all again in Detroit!

I'd also be remiss if I did not give one last shoutout to 2220, our great alliance partners from the 3 previous years at CIR. Unfortunately for us, that streak ended this year as you played amazingly, finished in the top 8, and then were deservingly selected as the first pick by the number 4 alliance. You've got an amazing little robot this year and we're hoping to see you in the same division as us in Detroit, so we can have one more shot at continuing the streak of sharing the same side of the alliance glass for a 4th consecutive year. Huge congrats on winning the Regional Chairman's Award at the Great Northern Regional and your Innovation in Control Award at CIR!!! Very well deserved. Best of luck and we look forward to seeing you again in Detroit!
