GRIP Question

My team is going to use GRIP this year for auto and for some outreach events. I was wondering if we need to install OpenCV to get GRIP code to work on the robot.

Re: GRIP Question

No. It should already be installed on the RoboRIO.

You do, however, need to write code that uses the GRIP code.

Re: GRIP Question

A bit of a tangent: If I remember correctly, the autogenerated code is also a little funky. My team used GRIP this year and had to make quite a bit of changes just to get it compiling without errors. Not sure if anything changed for this year. If you need any help with that, you can PM me.

Re: GRIP Question

It depends on what language your team is using. My team this year is using Python and it's a bit of a Wild West trying to install OpenCV bindings for Python on the RoboRIO. It appears as though Java and C++ have a bit more documentation available though.

Re: GRIP Question

The Java code GRIP outputs does integrate well. Cannot
speak to other languages.

Will you be running the GRIP code on the RoboRio or a co-processor
such as a kangaroo or a raspberry Pi ?

What issues are you having? Have you followed the guide at http://robotpy.readthedocs.io/en/sta...nstall-cscore? (Installing cscore installs OpenCV also).

Installing that library appeared to have fixed the issues. Thanks!
