The panels will be on the field and just be on our livestream, recording will be available later.

We are going to attempt to record all workshops, still working out cameras + audio!

No declines. Added results. All rounds after quarters went to three matches.

And three intense matches at that. There's a reason that the entire ref crew was on duty for the finals.

Re: Beach Blitz 2017

From afar, the production value was awesome and the event seemed to be ran superbly. Hoping to make it down next year!

And I'm happy the small part I played (300 miles away ) as "Cheesy Arena Engineering" helped, even if just a slight amount .

Re: Beach Blitz 2017

Anyone know the highest combined match score? I know there were some 1000+ point matches, but were they at champs or off seasons?
Semis 1-2 we had a combined score of 980. Crazy match.

Re: Beach Blitz 2017

Update: (Almost) all videos have been posted online!

The following videos are not yet posted:
  • Quals 1-4
  • Qual 12
  • Qual 18
  • Qual 27
  • Qual 37
  • Maybe something around 50

The few that are left will be uploaded in a few days. We have to piece together clips.

Everything has been submitted to TBA and should be up very soon.

EDIT: The sound had to be removed on some videos because of copyrights. It only had to happen on a few videos. Sorry!

Re: Beach Blitz 2017

Something that really struck me about Beach Blitz was how many alumni/teams volunteered. Beach Blitz was started because a bunch of young people and their teams had a vision for an event meant to help teams become more competitive.

If FIRST had a culture where young people can't envision something greater for their community and then pursue that vision, then the event would not have happened. The coolest thing about FRC Competitions is that you never know when/how a moment is going to change a students' life until after.

Thank you to all the teams competing, and every volunteer who came out. It was a great time and I hope everyone who came had a good experience.

I'd also like to thank Ryan Neal who came out from NorCal to be a field supervisor. The event would not have run the way it did without his knowledge and support.
