Re: [OCCRA]: Foundation

Foundation Award Scoring is done as follows:

Deadline for the Award Written Submission will be by day’s end on Thursday, November 9th at Our Lady of the Lakes Tournament

The Judges’ Review of Submissions will occur November 9–18, 2017

Award Criteria:

This award goes to the team that best exemplifies the Mission of OCCRA. The program that wins this award should have students who, for the most part:

Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation and enthusiasm between each other, teachers, administration and other teams.
 Demonstrate enthusiasm for technical and academic disciplines such as design, engineering, physics, electronics and communicate knowledge of robot to the judges.
 Demonstrate an organized approach to problem solving and trouble shooting
 Promote awareness of the Oakland County Competitive Robotics Association to their school district, parents and community.
 Practice safety on a regular basis at their school and all competitions.

The top choice is given 5 points; the second choice is awarded 4 points…etc.

The same process and criteria is also used by the judges at each tournament.
Five judges rank the top five teams at each of the tournaments; All of the score sheets will be totaled after the county championship tournament and added to the points from the written submissions. The Foundation Award will be presented at the Awards Banquet.
