When will these things happen?

Why have a unique thread for each controversy, when you can have one thread that has all the controversies put together!

I want to know which of these events people believe will never happen or will only happen after all of the other things on the list have happened. You might think MN will never go to districts, but do you really think a water game will happen earlier? I probably missed some good ones, so I’ve left in “Other option 1” and “Other option 2”. These are placeholders for the first two suggested additions to this poll in this thread that get suggested, seconded, and thirded. I unfortunately can’t edit the poll after making it, so you’ll have to read the thread first to find out what they are.

I thought about asking which of these would happen first, but thought last would be more fun, if you want to make an ordered list of when you think things will happen, feel free, here’s my rough estimate:
District teams can earn points at events outside of their home district (3 years)
All team field drawings are clear (4 years)
CA districts (5 years)
MN districts (6 years)
No more bag and tag (7 years)
NY districts (10 years)
#OneChamps (13 years)
water game (50 years)

Re: When will these things happen?

I'm more interested in which aggrieved party dominates the thread conversation.

But...

No more bag and tag (1 years)
District teams can earn points at events outside of their home district (3 years)
All team field drawings are clear (Ha!)
CA districts (Ha!)
Double Regional in Grand Forks (1 year)
NY districts (The various RPC's in NY getting along? Double Ha!)
#3Champs (3 years)

Re: When will these things happen?

Perhaps this is too provincial, but I nominate a UT team captaining the winning alliance of the UT regional for option 1. This actually hasn't happened in the nine years UT has had a regional.

For you nerds - per TBA, the only time a UT team has been the first pick of the winning alliance at the UT regional was in 2012.

Not like they don't have decent venues--there's at least one or two that I think I'd have loved to have a regional at. Problem is... it's on the wrong side of the state from MN, and CO/WY/MT don't seem terribly keen on going that general route. (And either way, the team(s) on the other end of the state won't be happy.)
Personally, I'd be predicting district teams earning district points outside of their district, then modification* of bag and tag, then clear team drawings**.

*I very specifically stayed away from using "end". I strongly suspect that the first move on that will be a major modification, not an end.

**Or, probably happening first, FIRST crowdsources team drawings. "Here, this part of the field looks like this with these critical dimensions, knock yourselves out and please share with other teams".

Re: When will these things happen?

No more bag and tag (2 years)
All team field drawings are clear (2 years)
#OneChamps (3 years) (or whenever the first contract with Houston/Detroit expires)
MN districts (4 years)
Universal point system (6 years)
CA districts (6 years)
NY districts (6 years)
water game (never, at least not a full out water game)

My predictions. I'm probably a bit more optimistic about things than most, but I do think a lot of these things are a lot closer than we think. (and they get more likely the more current FIRST students we have working at FIRST)
