Didn't get to plat with you at Midwest.

Had a fun time playing against you in the semi's. Your 3 cube auto was amazing to watch.

Is that a leveling rod climber? Or just making sure field is level for the 3 cube auto calibration?

Re: pic: 2018 Pwnage Team 2451 Robot

6X 775Pro with Andy Mark 85 tooth 32 DP spur gears this time around.
Last year we used custom 4140 spur gears that had to be wire EDM'd.

I was nervous about using only 6X motors instead of 8X but it has been fine.
We need to be a little more careful to allow adequate cool off periods for our practice bot when running through all 12X of our batteries in a row, but the comp bot motors never gets too warm. We have not changed out drive motors on either the practice or comp bot this year. We have yet to time the bot and compare to last years numbers.

We are running current limiting on every 775pro (only motor we use on the bot) at 30 amps continuous / 50 amps peak. Drivetrain motors additionally are set to 250ms voltage ramp rate like last year. We also compensate the drivetrain motors to 11 volts with the Talons.

I still highly recommend this setup, we are at 120lbs, zippy and have pushed a bunch this year. Though we do have low gear and don't normally push in high gear. I agree with others on this forum that this setup isn't for everyone, but if you can apply the correct safety precautions they work surprisingly well.

Its an periscope/climber hook deployment device.

Telescoping "Grade Rod" with custom one way stops and driven by a pinch roller pushing a 3/8" plastic tube up the center. The hula hoop looking thing is the outer sheath that the drive tube retracts into. The team used something very similar in 2010 to climb. We flip up the hook and lift it out of its cradle for climbing.

We have only used the periscope a couple of times during matches but the idea was to raise a camera up to get a good look at the scale for assisting in cube placement while shooting.
