I agree. A ratchet and paw combo for a 1/2" hex shaft.

+1 to all of these.

Additionally, I'd like to see:
a redone, more reliable CIMcoder with a better connector.
heavily pocketed gears (for low load applications like intakes)
steel 1/2" hex shaft
aluminum hex tube 1/2"OD 3/8"ID (I know WCP makes an adapter, but they're expensive and only 1/2" long)
6/8" colsons with premade hex hubs

I'm actually working on a board that would be able to mount on the talon (using the 2 screws for the data cover) that would give you either spring loaded connectors or a locking pwm cable style connector for encoders / limit switches

I'm not sure i'll be able to sell them, but I'll make a parts list and pcb files available. If there is enough interest, I may bulk order the boards and sell it as a kit.

Re: What COTS parts would you like to see?

Would love some new COTS swerve modules.

Would love a new VRM with a battery backup or a plug for a USB battery pack.

Would also love more brushless motor options and a replacement for the CIM/mini-CIM and maybe some more motors with integrated encoders.

Would love to see a cheaper and smaller Limelight-type camera.

Lastly, I really would love to see 1x1 and 2x2 90 degree brackets for versaframe because cutting stock to those lengths is annoying and I suspect vex could make more money from me by selling them to me.

A PCM with a switch that would allow you to charge the robot pneumatics without it being enabled.

217-4238 would like a word with you. (I agree, a simple L would be significantly cheaper and good enough for many applications.)

Re: What COTS parts would you like to see?

Vex and WCP came out with a nice set of products this year for driving 1.25" OD tube as rollers. Unfortunately they pretty much all need the tube to be a "live axle" (unless you drive it with polycord or flat belt). I would love to use 1.25" tube more as a stronger dead axle for mechanisms (like our arm) but we are missing one piece:

A hub that pins to 1.25" tube (or another size), which has a 1.875" bolt circle for timing pulleys, plate sprockets and wheels

Re: What COTS parts would you like to see?

A CAN based thermal probe for motors might be interesting to see. That could integrate with a Victor SPX (or any other budget CAN motor controllers we might see) so that it could sense when they're overheating and stop them or slow them down.
