Hawaii - Faculty, Robotics and Engineering Grades 9-12

This is a rare chance to join an ultra dynamic team of teachers and students rocking the world of high school design and fabrication. Your classroom will be the Ken Richardson Learning Lab which is equipped with multiple mills, lathes, CNC routers, a Haas CNC mill, and an Omax water jet. Supervision of the workshop is provided by a full time shop manager so teachers are free to focus on teaching students. FIRST Robotics is a core component of Punahou's robust robotics program. In 2017-18, our school registered 18 FIRST teams including 5 FLL teams, 12 FTC teams, and 1 FRC team (FRC2090). Check out the job description below and, if interested, apply soon.

This speaks to me but it looks like selling everything I own would net me few months of rent near the school. Is there a secret underground for finding cheap property?

There are probably some cheap homes near Kilauea right now, but the commute might eat up any savings you might get.

I am sure flying between the islands (about $180 round trip from Hilo) would more than eat up the savings in just the first year.
It would still be more cost efficient living on the same island as the school...

Though you might be better off living further from the town/school, to keep costs down, that island is small and the commute is probably shorter then what most mainland people do in a day normally.

YMMV

Aloha!
