2018 IRI - Indiana Robotics Invitational

The 2018 Indiana Robotics Invitational is Friday and Saturday, July 13 – 14.

Location is Lawrence NORTH High School, 7802 Hague Road, Indianapolis, IN 45256.

Load in will be Thursday night, July 12. We expect an earlier match start time on Friday morning.

Tentative Dates for Information:

Rule Changes Released – TBD
Applications – May 4 to May 14
Invitation – May 22
Confirmation – May 29
Payment Due – June 15

Entry Fee – $850 plus a backpack filled for an elementary school student!

Target Number for Teams is 68-72.

There will probably be a link posted to CD (and on the IRI website) when applications open.

Traditionally, teams that won events as captain/first pick have a good chance to make it in to IRI. It also helps to qualify for worlds and to perform well at district championships and worlds. I expect 6090 would easily make it in.

Applications will open on the IRI website on Friday, May 4.

The application will remain open through May 14. The date and time you apply is not a consideration by the selection committee.

NOTE: For 2018, we WILL NOT be accepting registration by PayPal / Credit Card. All payments will need to be by CHECK.

The 2017 winning alliance teams have an "automatic invitation", but still must apply to confirm interest in attending for 2018: 1619 – 195 – 2590 – 1710.

I'm excited to see the rule changes this year. It'll be interesting to see how IRI fixes the snowballing issue.
