RahChaCha Ruckus Thanks

On Behalf of team 340 I would like to thank Kim O'Toole, Linda Antos, & the RahChaCha Planning committee for putting on such a great event today. It was a lot of fun & we got to see what an awesome group of FIRST Teams we have in western NY. I would also like to thank JVN & Steve W for doing a great job on the MC/Announcer bit. One more thanks to all of you that traveled far or near to ref or volunteer the event, especially if it was all the way from RIT. One last thanks to 378 for letting us play with their robot all day. It was nice to get to try out 2 different sets of drivers for next season.
To all of my kids that were there today, nice job & thanks for being such a great group of people to work for.

Re: RahChaCha Ruckus Thanks

I too would like to give a bigtime thank you to team 378 who were kind enough to fill in the void left when 639 had to suddenly pull out. I hope both 378 and 639 can make it down for the Ruckus next year.

I also would like to thank Kim, Ahsley, Steve, Greg and John for being such good sports to help us fundraise for the RUckus and let us slam pies into your faces (classics!!!)

Re: RahChaCha Ruckus Thanks

Thanks to all the great mentors and students who took time to stop in and discuss Vex with us.

Next year we hope to be able to compete. Its just not the same without Gus out on the field.

FVC is on. Start a team, mentor a team, Do Dean's homework...

Wish we could have stayed for the pie event, but it's a loooong ride from CT

Re: RahChaCha Ruckus Thanks

There are so many to thank. Karen, thanks for letting me crash at your place and I hope that you can get rid of the fumes from my hair spray. Kim, you made it all come together. Thanks for the invitation to come and announce. I will forgive you for the pie thing. JVN, thanks for working with me. You will make a great MC anywhere. Folks, he actually loosened up and fit right in.

Most of all I would like to thank the teams that came. You are the ones that made it so much fun. Everyone was friendly, helpful and having a good time. That is contagious and it allowed all to have a good time.

Ashley, well....., uh........, enough said.

Re: RahChaCha Ruckus Thanks

Well I guess you are all welcome But I think I really just pushed the idea, the committee (and especially Linda!! *I hope 1591 uses her great organizing skills!) really made it happen. We all worked so well together, and it was awesome to bring together such hardworking people (several of which who are team leads themselves) to put on such a great event!

I guess a lot of my thanks are covered, most especially thanks to all the teams that came down, the committee, 229 for bringing a great crew all the way down, and to all of our awesome volunteers, who made it happen even with sometimes very little direction!

Greg, you were a great head ref!
John & Steve, what awesome MC's!! Thanks for making it so much fun!
Eric F, thanks for coming down and helping us work through all the field kinks!
And John, Steve, Ashley & Greg, thanks for taking the whipped cream so well!!

And a big thank you to my team, 1511, for taking most of the day to volunteer, and doing a great job filling in everwhere we were short!

Re: RahChaCha Ruckus Thanks

Congrats to Rah Cha Cha for pulling off a great event. The alliance non-selection process made for a fair and balanced elimination especially since the first seed got a bye in the quarters.

Id like to thank two of our team members for going above and beyond the call of duty. First was Jon (now know as Binary Jon) who got rear-ended Wednesday night and injured enough that he couldnt help deploy the robot. Second was Eric, who ended a state-regional soccer, game in S. E. Michigan at 8:15 P.M. Friday, and then made it all the way to Rochester, NY before going to emergency and getting seven stitches to close the gash over his eye. Either one of them had good reason to stay home, but they knew we had only enough to make a drive team. They truly deserved to win it.

Wed like to apologize for getting rough out there while a nasty thermal intermittent problem plagued our electronics in about half of our matches. Our rookie, Binary Jon, was at the controls when the lift motor first went quiet and I told him to play defense. He just said, WooHoo, and went about earning my new nickname for him Hes a zero or a one.

Re: RahChaCha Ruckus Thanks

Wow, to start off, I would like to thank all the teams that competed for coming. You all were great guests and none of this could have been successful without you all.

It was a great weekend and a TON of fun. I would like to thank the rest of the planning committee and all the wonderful volunteers! We were able to pull it off!! Yay!

I want to thank Eric F for coming down from FIRST and helping us out. He was a great help, and I appreciated his help with EVERYTHING.

I would also like to thank teams 340 [using 378's bot] and team 1126 for being good alliance partners. It was fun.

I want to also thank the two Pre-rookies who attended. You all did an awesome job. Congrats on making it so far into the finals.

Thanks to the teams that attended the after party. It was a lot of fun. And thanks Graeme, Corey 25 and Corey 173 for slamming my head into the wall when you pied me in the face .

I also want to thank Steve W. for coming from Canada and being so kind and letting us put him into the pie in the face raffle... and then letting me pie him in the face... hehe.

Also, thanks Kim for everything. We had awesome costumes... day and night. And thanks for letting me pie you in the face. I hope you arent too mad. haha.

Thanks to the teams who returned the second day, 1213, 191, 1511, 229 for the fun events. You all were awesome, and the human matches were a TON of fun. hehe.

I could keep going on and on with thank you's. Everyone was so amazing and I hope to see you all there again.. and then some.

-Ashley

I would like to say thanks to Kim, Ashley, and the rest of the committee members for great event.

Thanks Steve for coming down and being an announcer.

John you did a great job as MC. Does this mean we may see you doing it at a competition this year?

And thanks to the volunteers that helped out in making this event go smoothly.

Re: RahChaCha Ruckus Thanks

Thanks to the event organizers and volunteers for putting on one spectacular event! I had a lot of fun, and hopefully will be back next year. It was well worth the trip up.

MCing was definitely a cool experience. I got talked into doing it Friday evening, and didn't really know what to expect. It was fun. I feel sorry for everyone that had to put up with me doing it all Saturday!

I want to thank Kim O'Toole, Jason Rees, and everyone else who helped make Ruckus a success. I had a great time this weekend and it was definitely worth the drive from CT. I also want to thank Adrienne (Team 229 Leader) and family for providing me with a place to stay. The entire event was great and those teams that didn't not stick around for Sunday definitely missed out on some fun times.
