Re: Texas State UIL Championship

1817 is excited to be going to another competition where we don't have to strip our bot down to the chassis and rebuild it. This should be a fun and interesting event!

Re: Texas State UIL Championship

2848 is sad to miss this event and hopes that in the future this event stops being scheduled during finals weeks. (maybe integrated with the District Champs event next year?)

Good luck to all that are competing.

My unofficial understanding is that District Champs will be the only state championship event in 2019.

I remember conversations from during the season that also hinted/unofficially confirmed that UIL and state champs would be merged for next years district model.

UIL happens at Texas FRC District Championship, per the current plan.

In the document Jeffrey linked, the answer to the question"What qualifies a team for the World Championship"..." is "Yes, Texas teams must attend the District State Championship unless they are pre-qualified." which implies that the District State Championship will probably be in Week 5 ~ 7 like all the other District State Championships.

Team 4639 would like to thank teams 148 and 3005 for a wonderful experience. This was our first finals appearance ever, and we are honored that y'all took us along with you!

Re: Texas State UIL Championship

Big thanks to all who attended, the event was great and everything ran very smoothly, excited to start the district model next season, it should add a lot of variety to strategy and the level of competition at each individual event.

To 5427 congrats on the first event win! I also loved the new chrome shirts and props to your driver doing everything off one joystick, that's a tough thing to do.

118, 3310, and 5427 were great opponents in the finals, I know my students were very excited to compete directly for the win against a team (5427) who we literally share a wall with in our build space. Im really excited to see how y'all keep growing, and I know our robot this year had a few things on it that were directly inspired by chats we had with your students and mentors.

Gotta say congrats to another of our shared build space teams, 624, y'all really put up a great fight in the semi finals, it always a bummer when penalties are a factor in a match but from my personal perspective I knew facing yalls Alliance was going to be the biggest test, seeding that high at the level of competition at this event is pretty awesome. Also since I joined the RoboSpartans 3 years ago y'all have been a leader in every way at the RSC and are definitely the team everyone looks up too. I know I personally have come to y'all's bay like a hundred times for advice or looking to borrow a bolt or screws or wheel tread. Above all else your team sets the tone in the RSC and elevates everyones coopertition energy. I hope the friendly rivalry we all share continues far into the future. Your mentors are top notch and every time we talk I learn something new and try to pass it onto our students.

On behalf of my team I want to say thanks to 148 and 3005, y'all were great to talk to and it was one of our best experiences as alliance partners, thanks for helping us get our first finals appearance and all the help with the small mods we did to our robot to make it be as effective as possible. In the 10+ years I've been involved in first I've never had the experience of allying with a world champion level team and it was everything i imagined it would be like, talking to your mentors and students was awesome and there's definitely a ton of stuff we are going to take away for next year.

Also shout out to 4063, sad we only got to play one match with y'all but it was a great upset in the end. Thanks for partnering with us at Alamo and totally sending it to help us get our first semi final appearance as well.

-Adam.

Re: Texas State UIL Championship

Did the hosts ever publish the cause of the radio/packet loss disaster?
We were unfortunately one of the teams affected. No problems in 2 regionals but robot was disabled during half of our matches the first day. Problem was fixed by the venue the second day but no explanation announced that we heard of.
