Do you want another season long discussion about secret end games?!?!?

Because this is how you get another season long discussion about secret end games!

Can confirm there were no mounts for the standard on the field. We had a really cool leather one, so it was a shame we couldn't use it.

You can see four in the Bayou QM1 video.

I wonder if it was a district vs. regional thing? I know the New England fields didn't have the mounts for the standards, and they were having enough trouble getting all the pieces for the parts of the field that were needed for gameplay.

I'm guessing that may be one of the reasons they decided to go with digital avatars instead this year. People keep on saying they need to at least make the field simple enough that it can be fully assembled by the start of the season.

If the complexity of installing mounts for the standards was the cause of the field setup delays, we have a far bigger problem....

So that's what the "game specific data" is for...

In 2016, some events didn't even HAVE the holders--they were still en route from HQ. They weren't terribly hard to install. OTOH, when you're focusing on getting the airships ready to go, you don't really have time to deal with "extra" stuff.

Well, we are ONT, and didn't make it to worlds, so this does seem like a viable explanation.

Exactly, my point is that it wasn't the standard holders that dragged field setup on for hours on end, and if we want to talk about setup/teardown complexity our time would be best spent elsewhere. (Missing / wrong parts, bolts, cables, manufacturing errors / tolerances off, etc.)

I figured the avatar was replacing the standard.
Most of our events didn't have them or else we would have put our awesome standard up. I think our field at MICMP was the only one without them actually...
