coasting/braking

We are having issues with our drive train. We are using a standard KOP toughbox and CIM motors. One transmission stops the other coasts to a stop. They have taken the toughboxes apart and regreased and double checked everything. We still have the same problem. Could it be something in programming?

Re: coasting/braking

Do you know how to select the coast/brake function of the motor controllers you are using?

Re: coasting/braking

Thank you for your reply. After checking with our programmer (he is self-taught, we have no programming mentor), he said he would study up on the Talon SRX in labview and see if he can find any settings for coast/brake.
Your thoughts definitely give a starting place for our trouble shooting!

Re: coasting/braking

There's a button on the Talon SRX that is used for manually setting Brake or Coast; the same button is also used for Calibration. Look on p. 29 of the Talon SRX User's Guide.

Re: coasting/braking

We had this same issue and ended up doing a factory reset on our Talon SRXs to fix the problem.

Re: coasting/braking

Thank you for all your guidance! After a night of good practice for our builders to rebuild transmissions, they now know a little more about the Talon SRX controllers. I am thankful we found this little glitch now with 6 days left to bag day.

Re: coasting/braking

Using Talons, get familiar with the WebConfig.

Lots of good troubleshooting information there.
