Go to Post Judging the Championship CA must be the hardest thing to do in FIRST. I'd rather try to stop an alliance of 1114, 111, and 25 from scoring 3 pointers than to judge the CA between these teams. - Andy Baker [more]

Limit switch program in labview

Looking for a simple code for the bottom limit of our lift... We were using using a spark controller which made it easy...but we switched it out for a victor sp for the braking mode..... now we haven’t had any luck coding it to work. We code in Labview.

Thanks for any help

Something like this?

You might have the limit switch wired as Normally Open vs Normally Closed, so just probe the value to see if it needs negation in the code to reverse the logic.

Re: Limit switch program in labview

Will the digital input be coded in begin and finish also?

Re: Limit switch program in labview

You do have to Open anything you use in Begin.vi, and tell which DIO pins it refers to.

Re: Limit switch program in labview

We resolve this by using Talon SRX and a breakout board such as this:

http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-3495.htm

No coding necessary, install limit switch, wire to the board, connect directly to the Talon external port and it will behave the way you want.

It took us 2 years to figure this out and i am glad we standardize to Tlaon SRX for all motor controllers...
