Stay Safe, Southern California teams!

As many of you know, SoCal has been home to several major wildfires over the past few days.

For those who don't know, we have:
  • The Thomas Fire - Ventura County
  • The Creek Fire - Sylmar (San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles)
  • The Skirball Fire - Bel-air/West LA
  • The Little Mountain Fire - San Bernardino
  • The Rye Fire - Santa Clarita (near magic mountain) - thankfully this one is under a little bit more control

My school is directly next to the evac zone for the Skirball fire and the air quality has been very poor due to that and the Creek Fire so we have not had school since Tuesday. Likewise, all LAUSD schools in the San Fernando Valley (well over 200) are canceled tomorrow and Friday.

We also all just got alerts on our phones warning of strong winds.

At the moment, I don't know of any teams in any immediate danger. However, if anyone is, please stay safe and do not hesitate to reach out for help.

For reference - some maps (sorry for using MS Paint):

Stay safe, teams!
Jared & 1836

I think this gif shows more than enough.

Hope everyone is safe and okay.

Yes - this is the freeway exit right before our school and definitely shows what it feels like.

Stay Safe, Southern California teams!

Team 3925s room is in mandatory evacuation area (Ventura high school). I cant speak about everyone on my team, but from the students Ive talked to everyone and their homes are okay. We all know someone who’s lost their home (count is somewhere between 450 homes in Ventura right now). Many students live in the areas of mass destruction. Its only suppose to get worse tonight.

Our lab is right around the blue X, flames were only a few blocks away.

Hope to keep everyone updated. Please send your thoughts and prayers to all of Ventura!
