Are the rules IRI rules again this year? If not, what's the plan for the portcullis?

Re: Cow Town ThrowDown - Oct 28-29

When the planning committee starts meeting in late summer, we will go over what rule updates we might want to do. My understanding is that portcullis was a FIRST decision to not ship these to any off-season event so we will consider that when we look at the rules.

Any updates as to when we can expect the rules updates that CowTown will be playing?
Thanks!

Re: Cow Town ThrowDown - Oct 28-29

So the major rule changes are:
  • 8 tower strength instead of 10
  • IRI auto rule
  • IRI defenses (random during quals, selected normally during playoffs)
  • You can drive over boulders while carrying boulders
  • Top 8 can't pick each other
(Full rule changes are attached)

Also, the 2 prerookies listed above now have team numbers.

Is 1323 hosting this event? (just kidding, good luck to all the teams competing!)

I think that 2085 would be a better hosting team given Vacaville is cowtown.

Good luck to those competing.

Re: Cow Town ThrowDown - Oct 28-29

Knob Noster rookie team 6424 Stealth Panthers will be competing with the Camdenton LASER 3284 practice robot at CTTD and using the number "328" for this event. This is to save from making new bumpers. We are meeting this weekend to practice and learn how to drive and compete with the robot. It will be a great time for sure.

Re: Cow Town ThrowDown - Oct 28-29

We are looking forward to seeing old and new friends this year at Cowtown Throwdown. I will be busy that week making the FIRST logo cookies and maybe a few other surprises. We try to make the experience a great time for those attending and wish we could have room for more, but too many makes it uncomfortable in the pit area. We have been blessed that all the students attending in the past were wonderful with helping others and we know that will be the same this year. If anyone needs help, find a staff person or a member of FRC1730 Team Driven, and we will lead you in the right direction.

Re: Cow Town ThrowDown - Oct 28-29

Team 1619 won't be able to attend this year, but we wish the best of luck to all teams competing. If this is your first time going to this event, know that it's one of the most fun off-season competitions in existence!

Where will it be streamed this year? I know it was on a YouTube stream last time. Also, are there plans to push the match info to TBA this year?
