I think you may garner more interest if you provided a bit more information beyond just a YouTube link.

Re: Sneak peak at a new scouting system

The only problem I have with this is being dependent on an internet connection may not be feasible for all teams or venues. Many venues have very poor or no data connectivity and many students still do not have smart phones (and those who do may not have a very large data allowance) meaning teams would have to invest in devices with mobile data connections (expensive).

Using the internet isn't a new concept, many just assume it's impractical many FRC uses, so they pursue other methods. From the looks of things if you end up at an event with no internet access (something you don't find out until you get to the site generally) this entire solution becomes useless.

Beyond that, the architecture looks pretty solid.

Which actually makes it worse. A 1-2 paragraph description would take me a minute to read and evaluate, and could peak my interest or let me know it's not something I'm interested in. Opening the Youtube link like I just did, the first thing I looked at was length... when I saw 24 minutes, I closed the window. I'm not going to spend 24 minutes watching a video of something just to figure out if I'm interested in it. It's a new scouting system... what makes it different from all the other scouting systems out there? What makes it potentially better than the system my team currently uses? Why should I give half an hour of my time looking at it?

Re: Sneak peak at a new scouting system

Yeah for sure, I'm gonna make a promo video (about 2 minutes long or so) that goes over all the features briefly, if you'd like to check out a more in-depth feature set, go to http://roblu.squarespace.com/why-roblu, it's a prototype sight that overviews everything. Thanks!

That's a good point, I think that I will definitely work on a alternative Bluetooth system that works the same way. The internet idea is assuming that many studies have a cell phone with even a limited data connection, syncing takes only about 50 mb a day or so, so this should fit within most student's data limits.

Hahha sorry about the length, I wasn't intending this to be a full breakdown of the scouting system, just to show off the a cool syncing method. If you'd like to read up on all the different aspects, check out http://roblu.squarespace.com/why-roblu.

Yeah I'll do that, you can still get in with a captcha. I'm just waiting until I push the Roblu update to google play so I can make my website trial last as long as possible.
